Lincoln Summer School

UK parents: Want to get the kids off your hands for a few days during the summer months? Living near the University of Lincoln? Then you might want to check this out.

Psychology researchers at the University are planning a Summer School from 20-24 August this year, for young people between the ages of 3 and 10, to study their behaviour as they play and take part in various activities, in order to better understand their approaches to generosity, selfishness and risk: they also hope to learn more about the development of social and motor skills. The event is part of the Lincoln Summer Scientists scheme that started last year, when more than 150 children participated.

Actually, the intention is that parents will accompany the kids and take part in the fun and games with them, while the researchers study the youngsters’ behaviour. But at least it would be a chance for the family to get out and do something together for a few hours, wouldn’t it?
