Street Law’s 2012 annual awards dinner at The Fairmont in Northwest Washington. Street Law is a non-profit that creates classroom and community programs to teach about law, democracy and human rights worldwide.
Thursday 26 April
Dining Out for Life at more than 130 restaurants in the Washington region, in support of Food & Friends – a non-profit that provides meals, groceries and nutrition counselling to people living with illnesses.
6th Annual Celebrity Waiters Luncheon at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, in support of Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School.
Procurement and Business Development Conference: Opening Doors to New Opportunities at Camelot by Martin’s in Upper Marlboro, organised by Prince George’s Community College’s Center for Minority Business Development.
Friday 27 April
20th Annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards at The Waterford at Springfield.
Saturday 28 April
Run for Shelter 10K and Fun Run at 1901 Eisenhower Ave. in Alexandria, to support Carpenter’s Shelter – a non-profit that provides shelter, education, and advocacy for homeless individuals and families.
National Nanny Training Day at McLean Community Center in McLean, run by the Association of D.C. Area Nannies.
Emancipation of Fashion to support autism awareness at Prince Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Northwest Washington, run by BlacqLux Productions (a production company).
Run for the Children 10K Race & 3K Run/Walk at Fairfax County Courthouse. Organised by Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates – a non-profit network supporting and promoting court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children.
The Great Mutt Race Scavenger Hunt to support the Josie Foundation at Georgetown Waterfront Park in Northwest. The Josie Foundation provides financial assistance for the care of pets whose owners are unable to afford the expense.
